JV-LinkDirectory - Create a cron job for background operations

JV-LinkDirectory uses CRON to run background operations periodically. There are important background operations and these include purging recycle bin, resetting spam flag, resetting hit counter, resetting expired listings, resetting expired featured listings, stale state management, deactivate expired ads, send mass mail, send listings statistics, run scheduled reciprocal link checker etc...

Please create a new cron job in your hosting account with the following command. You need to set it to run once every 20 or 30 minutes:

/usr/bin/wget -q -O /dev/null "http://{www.yoursite.com}/index.php?option=com_jvld&task=cron&tmpl=component"
Do replace {www.yoursite.com} with your domain

For example:

An example entry to fire the above cron job once in 30 minutes for www.abc.com is,

0,30 * * * * /usr/bin/wget -q -O /dev/null "http://www.abc.com/index.php?option=com_jvld&task=cron&tmpl=component"

This is the only cron job that is required for JV-LD. If there are other cron jobs that were configured earlier for JV-LD, then you must delete them.
