JV-LinkExchanger - Periodical Reciprocal Link Checks

In this article, you will learn to configure cron to periodically check partner websites for backlink.

In a link exchange, it is very much possible that after you establish a link exchange, your partner removes your link from his website. You may continue to link to him, not knowing that, your link has been removed at your partner website. The only way to avoid this, will be to check, if your partner is till linking back to you, periodically. This process can be cumbersome if you do it manually.

JV-LinkExchanger has the ability to automatically and periodically check if your partner is still linking back to you or not. If it finds that your partner has removed your link, then it can be instructed to remove his link from your website as well. This will restore the link exchange balance.

JV-LinkExchanger can also send you a report by email or through browser on the results of reciprocal link checks on partner websites. To get these features of JV-LinkExchanger working, you need to do the following:

  1. In the Joomla backend, go to JV-LinkExchanger => Confguration => Cron Options
  2. Set "Enable automatic reciprocal link checks via CRON" to Yes
  3. Set "How do you want to view the results of the checker?" to HTML file or email.

If you have set "Enable Status Update during Reciprocal Check?" in "Exchange Options" to yes, then JV-LinkExchanger will update the status of the links to their appropriate state based on the result of the scheduled reciprocal link check at your partner website
